About Haaskraal Family Farm
Haaskraal Farm is a picturesque family farm dating back to 1720, located on the outskirts of Wellington in the Western Cape. Nestling near the majestic Lamietberg mountain range, it lies along the banks of the Berg River.
The farm is centrally located close to major tourist attractions, wedding venues, outdoor activities and the superb wine routes of the Western Cape. Cape Town itself and the International airport is less than an hour's drive away.
Over 300 years old, the farm lay dormant for many years and being transformed back to its original heritage and splendour. New olive groves have been established, producing quality multi-award winning Extra Virgin Oil and soon also Kalamata Table Olives.. The old neglected vineyard has been cared for and invigorated with new vines inter-planted between old vintage vines, restoring the original beauty of the farm towards delivering both red and white table grapes.
The closest town to Haaskraal Farm is Wellington, with other places of interest a stone's throw away being Paarl, the university town of Stellenbosch and Franschoek. The culinary capital of the Western Cape Winelands as well as the historic heritage towns such as Riebeek Valley and Tulbagh offers charming experiences nearby steeped in history.
The surrounds offer trails perfect for mountain biking and picturesque walking as well as a scenic drive over Bains Kloof. Wine enthusiasts could take the pleasure in visiting many excellent cellars along the Paarl, Wellington, Franschoek and Stellenbosch wine routes to enjoy wine and cheese tasting in an informal and relaxed atmosphere that is true to the Western Cape culture and its friendly people.
